Are you a Glitterpreneur? Sounds jazzy, doesn’t it.
The official definition (according to me) of a glitterpreneur is an entrepreneur who is easily distracted by shiny things and new ideas.
And confession time… I used to be a glitterpreneur too.
A glitterpreneur scatters ideas around like… er, glitter. They jump from one thing to the next, in the hope that something will stick. They love creating new products and offerings and generally making shiny new stuff.
They may have started out with a plan, but it got so covered in glitter that they lost sight of it.
Once upon a time, the glitterpreneur had an insight into what their people really want and need.
But, then their people got so completely covered in glitter that the glitterpreneur couldn’t see them properly, let alone hear what they were saying!
Messages and offerings got muddled and confused.
To the outside world the glitterpreneur looks busy, like they’re doing some stuff.
But on closer inspection all anyone can see is a random mess of glitter – it’s impossible to make out what’s really being offered.
It’s hard to make money in your business when you’re a glitterpreneur.
People don’t know what you’re offering. They’re confused. So they move on and go work with someone else.
It’s frustrating and stressful.
It’s hard to do a great job when you’re completely buried in glitter!
If you’re a glitterpreneur, what should you do?
Get a vacuum cleaner and suck it up.
That includes all the glitter as well as knee jerk ideas, the random groups, the webinars you don’t really need, the pointless programs and trainings too.
I know it’s scary, to do less. You’re worried that if you do less you’ll lose out. But right now you’re not doing yourself or your business justice.
If you do this, you’ll be able to work less, do less and make more money.
No more showering yourself in glitter… only glory!
